Transformation Academy’s programs range from one-hour workshops to a full five-week Personal Development course that can be tailored to your specific needs, goals and interests. Tell me a little about your family – My son is a supervisor at the Border Patrol Academy. He and his wife and daughter live in Roswell, NM. I have three sisters (2 in California.) I am engaged and have a dog named Cooper. What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My biggest turning point would have to be the death of my husband right before the end of my term as Mrs. Nebraska. I was newly widowed and on a mission trip to Haiti, covered with bug bites and sleeping on a rock floor. I had lived through many difficult situations in my life, but realized that people all over the world also faced so many challenges and needed hope, encouragement and the skills-development programs that I offer. These experiences gave me the drive to get back in the race and educate others with career and life transformation programs. What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – If the weather is good, doing any outdoor activity. Dancing is also a favorite thing to do on weekends. What are you most proud of? – I’m most proud of the lives I’ve touched through my educational and inspirational programs. I am so pleased to see people of all ages acquire greater self-esteem and confidence, or better relationships and careers through the programs I have had the honor providing. What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – I would love to speak at international conferences and spread my message even farther. If you could have a super power, what would it be? – It would be great to have the ability like those in the old Star Trek series (“beam me up Scotty”) and pop into other locations with educational programs to see what is going on. What are your plans after retirement? – We plan to move to California where the majority of our family members are located. But I will always want to speak and travel no matter where I am. Which talent would you most like to have? – I’d like to be a great singer who could bring inspiration and laughter to a lot of people. Well, I guess my singing could already generate some laughter! What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – There are so many good books that have provided inspiration, but my mainstay is the Bible. What is your favorite movie? – I like true stories, like The Blind Side and We Are Marshall, which show grit, determination and successful outcomes. What is your favorite TV show? – It’s a tie between Castle and The Good Wife.
